How to Apply for a DGCA Computer Number

What is a DGCA Computer Number?

The DGCA Computer Number is a unique identification number allotted by the Central Examination Organisation (CEO), DGCA, for your Flight Crew examination journey and result history. You need one before you can sit any DGCA Flight Crew written paper (CPL, ATPL and related categories). A candidate is authorised to have only one computer number for Flight Crew.

Important: Computer numbers are issued through the official PARIKSHA portal (pariksha.dgca.gov.in) — DGCA’s online registration and examination system. They are not issued on eGCA. eGCA is a separate portal for licensing services (eGCA ID, licences/ratings, Electronic Personnel Licence). Do not confuse the two.

Step 1: Check eligibility and documents

Before you register as a NEW candidate on PARIKSHA, confirm:

  • You have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics from a recognised board (or hold an accepted equivalent — see the Flight Crew User Manual on PARIKSHA / DGCA for edge cases).
  • You have a working personal email ID and Indian mobile number (the portal uses these for OTPs and allotment mail).
  • You can upload a recent passport-size colour photograph and signature to the portal’s size/format rules (see the FAQs / FC User Manual on PARIKSHA).

Step 2: DigiLocker and board verification

From 16 December 2024, DigiLocker is integrated with PARIKSHA for computer-number applications. You can fetch Class X / XII mark sheets or certificates from DigiLocker with consent. For X and XII documents fetched from DigiLocker, a separate Board Verification Certificate (BVC) is not required to be uploaded.

If your X/XII documents are not available via DigiLocker, follow the latest Flight Crew User Manual on PARIKSHA for what verification documents CEO still requires — do not rely on outdated forum advice.

Step 3: Register on PARIKSHA (NEW candidate)

  1. Go to the official PARIKSHA portal.
  2. Register as a NEW Flight Crew candidate (you do not yet have a computer number).
  3. Verify mobile and email as prompted.
  4. Enter personal details exactly as they appear on your Class X documents / DigiLocker data. Mismatches (especially name and date of birth) are a common cause of delay or rejection.
  5. Where DigiLocker is used, ensure your Aadhaar details on PARIKSHA match DigiLocker exactly.

Step 4: Upload documents and submit

Upload what the current FC User Manual asks for. Typically this includes:

  • Passport-size photograph (white background; follow the published size and finish rules)
  • Signature (as per the FC User Manual)
  • Class X certificate / mark sheet (date of birth proof)
  • Class XII certificate / mark sheet with Physics and Mathematics
  • Any additional documents listed for your category (foreign nationals, diploma holders, AIU equivalence, etc.)

Submit the application only after every mandatory field and upload is correct — after final submission you generally cannot casually re-upload missing files.

Step 5: Allotment — auto-generation or CEO scrutiny

From 16 October 2025, DGCA introduced auto-generation of Flight Crew computer numbers through PARIKSHA for eligible candidates:

  • Phase I: Indian nationals who passed Class X and XII from CBSE, subject to successful DigiLocker verification (Aadhaar match, photo match thresholds, and other conditions in the public notice / FC User Manual).
  • Later phases: extension to other recognised boards whose X/XII documents are available in DigiLocker.

If you are not in an auto-generation cohort, or DigiLocker verification fails, allotment follows CEO scrutiny of the online application. Successful candidates are intimated of the allotted computer number on their registered email. After allotment, your PARIKSHA login ID is typically the allotted computer number with the P- prefix (as stated in the official PARIKSHA FAQs).

Always re-check the latest Flight Crew User Manual and notices on PARIKSHA before you apply — CEO/DGCA notices override any guide, including this one.

Common rejection / delay reasons

  • Name or date-of-birth mismatch between Class X, Class XII, Aadhaar and DigiLocker.
  • Photograph or signature that does not meet the published specification (or fails DigiLocker photo match for auto-generation).
  • Applying on the wrong portal (eGCA is for licensing, not computer-number allotment).
  • Missing supporting documents for non-DigiLocker or special categories, or ignoring a rejection mail instead of correcting via Candidate Login.
