How to Apply for a DGCA Computer Number

What is a DGCA Computer Number?

The DGCA Computer Number is a unique identification number issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India to aspiring pilots and aircraft maintenance engineers. It is mandatory for appearing in any DGCA examination.

Step 1: Board Verification (10+2)

Before applying on the eGCA portal, you must complete your 10+2 board verification. This is the most common reason for rejection. Ensure that you have:

• Passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized board.
• Obtained the official verification certificate directly from your board. DO NOT submit just the marksheet; the specific verification letter is required.

Step 2: Register on eGCA

Once you have your board verification:

1. Go to the official eGCA portal.
2. Create an account using your Aadhaar card for seamless e-KYC.
3. Fill in your personal details exactly as they appear on your 10th standard certificate.

Step 3: Upload Documents

You will need to upload the following documents in the specified format and size limits:

• Passport-size photograph (white background, no glasses)
• Signature (black ink on white paper)
• 10th standard marksheet/passing certificate (for Date of Birth proof)
• 10+2 marksheet/passing certificate
• Board Verification certificate

Step 4: Submission and Tracking

After submitting the application online, you must send the physical copies of the attested documents to the CEO (Central Examination Organization) at DGCA, R.K. Puram, New Delhi. You can track the status of your application on the eGCA portal.
